The IFS International Certificate is a food safety certificate that certifies the safety and quality of food products and production processes. It is a food safety standard that covers certain conditions for food production, packaging, transportation, storage and other stages of food in the food industry.

Food companies with the International Food Security (IFS) Certificate are opening up new market opportunities because companies with IFS International certification are well-known and internationally favored for meeting their food security requirements. Other benefits also include customer trust, enhancing the brand image, providing waste, providing transparency, and ensuring quality and safety throughout the supply chain.

Under these conditions, the German Retailers Association and the French Retailers Association have established IFS standards, the International Food Safety Certification, for quality brands.

Some countries have incorporated IFS International Law in their official food security policies. Some of these are Spain and Switzerland.

What is the purpose of IFS International?

  • One common assessment
  • Professionalism of Accreditation Institutions and Auditors
  • Transparency in the supply chain
  • Reduction of supplier costs

Why IFS International Standard?

The world's largest food associations, such as HDE, FDE Conad and COOP, require mandatory IFS certification providers. These food associations require this standard from the giant consortiums of chain retailers like EDEKA, Rewe, Aldi, Metro.

The IFS International Standard, like other food safety standards, is a worldwide standard, such as HACCP, SQF, GFSI, BRC, ISO 22000. IFS International Certification can be obtained from companies in the food industry to wholesalers.
